My work is mostly concerned with landscape.
Although I live in Sydney and love the city and its surrounds, I like to go to the country as often as possible. The Monaro, Braidwood, the South Coast and Bathurst are favourite destinations and feature often in my painting.
I work in oils on either canvas or marine ply. I like to complete a painting while I am on site, but I also make some rough acrylic or charcoal sketches to work with back in the studio.
My work does not include people, but evidence of their presence. This may cause the viewer to reflect on issues of ownership and ongoing custodianship, and the affect that humans have on the environment. I let the strength of the landscape speak for itself and invite the viewer to share that space.
